Waggaman is a small, tight-knit unincorporated community in western Jefferson Parish along Highway 90. The housing stock here is modest and predominantly mid-century construction, with single-family homes occupied by long-term residents who have deep roots in the community. Many of the kitchens in these homes have never undergone a full renovation and retain the original layouts and cabinetry from their construction era. The close proximity to the Mississippi River and the wetlands that surround the western Westbank makes moisture management an important consideration in any renovation work.
