The Gentilly Ridge is home to the oldest and best-preserved homes in the area, including early 20th-century construction and mid-century properties maintained by long-term residents. These homes often have original bathroom layouts and systems — strong candidates for renovation that preserves the home’s character while modernizing function. The areas of Gentilly that flooded in 2005 were largely rebuilt with new construction, producing a different type of housing stock with builder-grade bathroom finishes ready for upgrading.
