Hammond’s housing spans three distinct eras — historic homes in the neighborhood around downtown and Southeastern Louisiana University, mid-century construction in established residential areas, and newer subdivision development on the city’s outskirts. Each era presents different addition considerations. Historic homes may have specific architectural compatibility requirements and older structural systems that need assessment. Mid-century ranches offer conventional addition paths. Newer construction has the most predictable tie-in points. We work throughout all of Hammond’s housing stock with the appropriate approach for each.

Yes. We manage all permitting and inspection coordination with Tangipahoa Parish on every Hammond addition, including plan submissions, permit fees, and all required inspections through final completion.
The planning and permitting process typically takes four to eight weeks before construction can begin, depending on Tangipahoa Parish’s current permit processing times and the complexity of the project. For additions requiring structural engineering, add another two to four weeks for drawings. Planning six to twelve weeks out from your desired start date gives us time to do it right without rushing.
