Renovating a Courtyard by Marriott: 202 Rooms and 75 Shower Conversions in Under 5 Weeks

When a Courtyard by Marriott needed a large scale renovation covering both bathroom upgrades and full flooring replacement, they turned to Quillen Construction Group to get the job done. Hotel renovation projects at Marriott branded properties come with high expectations for quality, consistency, and speed. Our team delivered on all three.

What It Takes to Renovate a Courtyard by Marriott

Marriott properties are held to strict brand standards, and any renovation work must meet those expectations down to the last detail. Guests expect a seamless experience, and ownership cannot afford extended downtime on rooms that generate revenue every night. That is why choosing the right hotel renovation company matters. The contractor has to understand the urgency, maintain quality across every room, and coordinate the work so the property can continue operating throughout the project.

At Quillen Construction Group, that is exactly how we operate. Our recent Courtyard by Marriott renovation involved two major scopes of work running on tight timelines, and our team executed both with precision.

75 Room Shower Conversions at Courtyard by Marriott

The first phase of the Courtyard by Marriott renovation involved converting 75 showers using Mincey Marble products. Before any work began on the property, we sent our General Foreman directly to the Mincey Marble manufacturing facility to learn the proper installation techniques from the source. He then returned and trained our entire crew on the correct methods, ensuring every installation met the manufacturer’s standards from start to finish.

Each shower conversion followed a thorough, multi step process. The scope of work included full demolition and prep, plumbing rough in with new valves and pan installation, wall panel installation, plumbing trim, glass installation, and a final cleaning of each unit. The entire 75 room shower renovation was completed in just 35 days. For a Courtyard by Marriott that needs to keep as many rooms available as possible, that kind of turnaround is critical.

65,000 Square Feet of Carpet Installation Across 202 Rooms

The second major phase of the Courtyard by Marriott renovation was a full carpet replacement covering 65,000 square feet across all 202 guest rooms. The process required moving all furniture out of each room, removing the old carpet along with any damaged tack strips, and then installing new tack strips, new padding, new carpet, and new carpet base throughout every room. Once the installation was complete, each room was cleaned and all furniture was moved back into place.

The full carpet renovation across all 202 rooms was completed in 28 days. That pace allowed the Courtyard by Marriott to minimize revenue loss while still getting a complete, high quality flooring upgrade across the entire property.

Why Courtyard by Marriott Chose Quillen Construction Group

There are a few reasons our team was the right fit for this Courtyard by Marriott renovation. The first is preparation. We did not just show up and start installing. We invested the time to send our General Foreman to the actual manufacturer so our crew would be trained on the correct installation process before touching a single room. That level of commitment to doing the job right is what sets us apart from other hotel renovation companies.

The second is speed without compromise. Completing 75 shower conversions in 35 days and 202 rooms of carpet in 28 days shows what is possible when a team is properly trained and managed. Marriott properties cannot sit idle waiting on a slow contractor, and we made sure that was never a concern.

The third is accountability. From demolition through final cleaning, every phase of the project was handled by our team. There was no finger pointing between subcontractors or delays caused by miscommunication. When one company owns the entire process, the result is a smoother project and a better finished product.
