Additions in Algiers Point require HDLC review in addition to Orleans Parish permitting, which adds timeline but is manageable with proper planning. The broader Algiers neighborhood has more conventional permitting paths. We work in both contexts with the appropriate approach for each.

Algiers Point is within a historic overlay zone in Orleans Parish, which means additions on contributing structures require review by the Historic District Landmarks Commission before Orleans Parish will issue a building permit. The HDLC has specific standards around exterior materials, massing, roofline compatibility, and architectural character that need to be addressed in the design phase. The review process typically adds four to eight weeks to the timeline depending on the scope of the project. We handle the HDLC submittal and coordinate the review process as a standard part of every Algiers Point addition project — it’s not something you need to manage separately.
Yes. We manage all Orleans Parish permitting and inspection coordination on every Algiers addition, including HDLC submittals where required for historic district properties.
